"Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" is scheduled to open in spring 2014, with a pre-Broadway run at the end of this year, the producers announced on Friday, March 15, 2013. The show will have a book by Douglas McGrath, whose screenplay for "Bullets Over Broadway," written with Woody Allen, was nominated for an Oscar in 1995. Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing are the producers.

Prior to its planned Broadway arrival in spring 2014, "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" has locked in a San Francisco tryout run for the fall.

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), and Ed Markey (D-MA) have introduced the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act (NREPA), H.R. 1187, which would protect as permanent wilderness the dwindling wildlands across five states of the Northern Rocky Mountains, one of America’s greatest natural treasures.

Carole King joined NPR's highly respected "The Diane Rehm Show" for an interview to talk about her many achievements in recording, songwriting, and activism.  Carole also discusses her 2012 memoir 'A Natural Woman', her advocacy for wild horses and her work to preserve the Northern Rockies ecosystem.
