London's "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" Nominated for 8 Olivier Awards

It was announced March 9, 2015 that Broadway's "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" now playing at London's Aldwych Theater has received 8 nominations for the Olivier Awards, British theatre’s most sought-after awards marking theatrical greatness. 

The London production starring Katie Brayben (Carole King), Alan Morrissey (Gerry Goffin), Lorna Want (Cynthia Weil) and Ian MacIntosh (Barry Mann) opened late February to rave reviews.

Best Actress in a Musical- Katie Brayben for Beautiful - The Carole King Musical
Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical - Ian McIntosh for Beautiful - The Carole King Musical
Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical -Lorna Want for Beautiful - The Carole King Musical
Best Sound Design - Brian Ronan for Beautiful - The Carole King Musical
Best Costume Design - Alejo Vietti for Beautiful - The Carole King Musical
Best Theatre Choreographer - Josh Prince for Beautiful - The Carole King Musical
Autograph Sound Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music - The Orchestra for Beautiful - The Carole King Musical

Inaugurated in 1976 as the Society of West End Theatre Awards, the society is now known as Society of London Theatre (SOLT).  Its prestigious awards began in 1976 and was renamed the Olivier Awards in honour of a theatrical legend, Lord Olivier and his contribution to British theatre.
